who is kelli?
In 2006 I anxiously walked into a preschool classroom with my daughter, my oldest child. I can remember releasing her little hand from mine and entrusting her care and her education to the Worthington School District with the highest of hopes for her future. I couldn't have imagined just how quickly the next fifteen years would pass, but as we prepare for her spring graduation and my son's transition to high school next year, I can't help but reflect on the importance of being engaged in the decisions that impact our Worthington children.
As a mother of two children who have both attended Worthington Schools since preschool, I have experienced many aspects of the district, from academics to athletics, to gifted services, to the arts, as well as special education. As a passionate supporter of Worthington Schools, I have coordinated food drives to support local families, participated in discussions about diversity and inclusion, and served as a Curriculum Liaison Council representative. With years of experience as a parent in our district and with a heart devoted to service, I can bring needed diversity and positivity to the Worthington School Board - always putting the needs of students first.
As a Worthington School Board member, I will represent ALL families and students in the district. I understand that communication and active listening are critical to informed decision making, and I want every opinion to be considered when important choices are being made for our schools. I will help everyone in our community to find their voice and know their unique challenges are being represented regardless of the makeup of their household - including families from one side of town or another, students who are on a traditional pathway, and students who are creating their own path. I want to bring our school community together through common goals and meaningful conversations, building bridges between parents, teachers, students, and the Worthington School Board!
I am invested in the well-being of our Worthington School District as well as our community as a whole. A thriving school district benefits all of us.
Please join me throughout this process as I run for Worthington School Board in 2021. I welcome your feedback and support, and I believe that brighter days are ahead!
